International Commercial Manager (Mail and Parcels

Our Client is a market leader in International and UK express delivery services. They boast a modern fleet offering express/economy service for mail and parcels.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our clients busy International division as their INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL MANAGER.
Based remotely with an occasional requirement to have a presence in various key sites around the country this role will be to lead and manage the commercial functions of our clients International business, including development and management of export carrier activities; and export/import commercial functions. To coordinate and liaise commercial activities cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Finance, Legal, Products, Procurement, Marketing, HR, Tenders, Operational Planning, IT and Customer Services at all levels. To manage the international yield in line with business targets. To ensure the optimum service and price offer from our carrier partners to support the sustainable growth of import and export international sales. Continue development of multi-vendor carrier strategy. Lead and manage the international commercial team.

To be considered for this role you MUST have a proven track record in International Mail and Parcel Commercial activities.
You will have the ability to establish, lead and maintain effective and valuable working relationships externally with our carrier partners, also with clients and internally with colleagues.
Manage the Commercial team to develop skills and expertise, including in areas where this may be in an early development stage (e.g. carrier daily and weekly performance management).
Advanced level of analytical and numerical ability, including quantitative modelling. Able to analyse data, make inferences, draw conclusions and make recommendations to inform decision making by the business.
Strong level of financial awareness, able to understand the impact on the profitability of the business based upon decisions regarding pricing and discounts applied to customers whilst taking into account the operational costs and contribution requirements of the business.
High level of attention to detail enabling management of accurate analysis and control of data input and output.
Experience of working with sales teams on the production of complex prospect proposals and tenders.

Finally you MUST have the ability to analyse complex information clearly and concisely and produce trend analysis based on the data.
High level of fluency in software operating systems, such as MS Office 2013 (excel, word, access, visio, powerpoint) and customer relationship management systems.
Understanding of the Import and Export international marketplace.
