Finance & Accounting Manager - Logistics

Our client a leading Supply Chain & Logistics partner company who are now looking for a Finance & Accounting Manager for their Salford site in Manchester
You will lead the finance team and Business Unit, ensuring that all financial information in produced accurately in line with Company deadlines and to help senior management in all aspects of financial strategy.

Co-ordinate and review Management accounts and ensure that the transactions of the business are conducted in accordance with the relevant accounting standards, procedures, and controls. Preparing financial statements attributable to cost centre/divisional managers.
Preparation of bi-annual Group Reporting under IFRS in line with company KOGs, and analysis of the bridge between statutory and management results
Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts inline with overall business strategy
Analyse variances to budget/forecasts prior to submission of management accounts to relevant stakeholders
Review balance sheet reconciliations and be able to identify potentials risks, ensuring business unit awareness on a monthly basis
Responsible for the management, leadership, performance management, development and recruitment of any direct reports
To be able to support both financial and business specific projects, providing relevant information to allow stakeholders to make proactive decisions. Take an active role in specific project initiation, planning, and execution.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts. Understanding of financial regulations and legislation, and being able to apply within the workplace
To be able to actively gain knowledge of the overall business strategy and methodology, to provide relevant information to stakeholders
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise own workload within set deadline
Have strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and good attention to detail, to be able to achieve deadlines and provide meaningful reporting information
Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to not only manage, but also to work as part of a team. Foster key internal business relationships
To be able to drive and improve process and controls within the financial workplace environment
Commercially astute, with exposure to business processes and an understanding of the relationship between operations and P&L
Significant experience of working in an accounts preparation role with strong analytical skills to enable production of meaningful financial reporting
Motivation to streamline processes and identify and implement continuous improvement
Strong IT skills, particularly accounting systems and high level excel skills, including data manipulation and interrogation
Experience managing and developing an establish finance team

You must have CIMA, ACCA qualified with minimum 2 years qualified experience.


£45,000 Circa
25 days holiday plus the bank holidays with an additional merit day at 5, 10 & 15 years
