Branch Sales Manager - Road Logistics

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Sales Manager, to join the freight team at their Midlands office, joining a market leading Road Logistics business unit your role will be to help drive and grow an already successful motivated sales team. We are looking for a Branch Sales Manager who is target driven to help drive the team to the next level and ensure sustainable profitability by creating a business environment which enables your staff to prosper. You will assume responsibility and accountability for the smooth running and development of the Birmingham branch.
Focusing on achieving profit growth through the effective development of the Branch team ensuring that all individual and team targets are met. With proven sales, commercial and man management experience and the ability to motivate and influence others, the successful applicant thrives in the culture of working to targets and deadlines.

Your Responsibilities

Ensure revenue and consignment growth is achieved and the Branch budget is achieved or exceeded
Ensure all personal and Branch related targets are achieved following company guidelines
Ensure that a thorough and comprehensive induction is carried out for all Branch personnel using the appropriate documentation and ensure that all Branch staff are fully trained in all aspects of their role
Carry out training/coaching for all members of your team to ensure continued development of the sales force
Ensure all reports to Regional Managers/HR/other management are provided within specified times
Provide a high level of internal and external customer care
Monitor consignments ensuring that the highest levels of service are carried out at every stage
Prepare weekly/monthly figures of sales activity
Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of all Freight services and relevant administration and operational processes
Carry out performance and annual reviews with all Branch staff in line with Company procedure
Follow and implement the recruitment process ensuring the job profile and candidates essential criteria are consistently met before proposing any job offers.
Actively review operational procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and promoting continuous improvement within the team

Your Skills and Experiences

Experience and knowledge of Road Logistics/Freight Forwarding
Previous experience in a senior / supervisory role working in a target driven sales environment.
Proven sales, commercial and man management experience is essential
Customer focused and have proven experience of stakeholder management and networking to achieve results
Ability to build relationships and be able to negotiate and influence others both internally and externally


Competitive salary in the range of £55,000 to £75,000 dependent upon experience
Discretionary bonus and Commission scheme
25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance and private health insurance. Pension scheme
