Depot Office Manager

Our client is a fast expanding independent express parcels specialist offering UK domestic next day and premium parcel and pallet delivery solutions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DEPOT OFFICE MANAGER based directly out of the clients Birmingham site. Reporting directly to the Managing Director main duties are as follows.

Main Purpose of job:
1, Customer Services
Point of escalation for customer queries, ensuring key accounts are happy. Balancing customer retention and profitability costs must be kept low.

2, HR Procedures
HR for all aspects of company. Managing Customer Service and Administration staff including employing new staff, managing rotas, reviews and performance management including disciplinaries and dismissals. Ensuring all staff members are completing their jobs effectively.
Payroll for the company.

3,Office / Company Organisation
Create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety.
Reviewing procedures in the office to ensure efficiency. Encouraging team members to contribute to their own success. Checking all systems are working and fixing any issues when they arise.

4, Depot issues
Implementing new Depot processes and procedures across drivers. Point of contact for escalation either from the Area Manager for problems with our depot, or escalating problems we are experiencing with the Hub or other depots.

5, Reporting
Regular and ad hoc reporting. Checking drivers are completing their jobs properly (reports on compliance, delivery time percentages etc). Revenue on driver rounds, customer margins, sales commission etc.

6, Implementing change
Rate increases, changes in procedure, always looking for the most efficient, successful and cost-effective processes

Skills/Competencies
People Management
Negotiation skills
Conflict resolution
Ability to see a problem through to its solution
Good working knowledge of computers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Previous experience
Experience of Customer Services and client retention
Experience working in an office environment
Worked successfully and cooperatively as a team leader / manager within a transport/ logistics or similar service related environment

Benefits:
upto £30k Basic salary
Pension
20 days plus BH
