Business Development Manager - Logistic Solutions

Our client are the UK's leading bespoke courier logistics service provider and growing quickly across all sectors. Their business is based upon successful long-term relationships along with new customers who are looking for bespoke supply chain solutions from a supplier thats put the customer first.

Purpose of the role:
Key deliverables will be strategic account plans, developing pipeline opportunities and delivering revenue and margin targets whilst forging customer relationships to ensure alignment with their objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, identify and generate new business opportunities using internet, business directories, existing database and additional channels where appropriate
Producing robust business plans that exceed sales and profit targets
Building, Converting and closing new business pipeline opportunities
Dealing with new client enquiries and driving sales forward
Building a detailed understanding or customers, markets and competitors
Preparing proposals and quotations for new clients
Ownership of response to tender enquiries
Ensure that new clients are fully aware of the range of company services and comprehensive understanding of the customers challenges.
Ensure effective implementation of all new client accounts
Work with Marketing to develop sector/industry specific marketing campaigns/propositions
Daily update of CRM customer records, opportunities and cases and effective communication of new developments with colleagues
Effective liaison and communication with other departments and teams, especially the Operations Team.
Ensure you have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them

Applicant Criteria:
Proven track record in Business Development, preferably selling a Logistics, Supply Chain or 3PL solution.
Strong experience of face to face selling
Demonstrate achievement of selling on a business to business basis
Ability to negotiate at senior / C suite level
Resilience, perseverance and commercial awareness
Highly organised and able to work well under pressure
High level of proficiency with IT skills, e.g. Excel & PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective collaborative team member
Generates enthusiasm and has a positive attitude to change.
Ability to self-manage and act on own initiative
Well presented, articulate with excellent time management
Must have flexibility in regards working hours.
Driving license essential

Benefits:
£40k - £50k basic salary
