Customs Specialist

Customs Specialist - Freight Forwarding - Manchester - £24,000 to £30,000 dependent upon experience

Joining a privately held and expanding European Express, Dedicated Road freight specialist with a friendly and warm atmosphere.
As a business they provide only dedicated vehicles for specialist shipments from manufacturers and freight forwarders. They prioritise top customer service, quality equipment, and knowledge. The business operates 24/7 and services clients big and small across the UK and Europe.

Job Description:

Working hand in hand with manufacturers, freight forwarders and hauliers the customs specialist will assist customers with customs clearances and customs specific knowledge. Assisting in the creation of imports, exports and transits as well as helping to administer VAT and duty payments from clients.

Required Skills:
-Good working knowledge of customs clearances and relevant experience
-Understanding of the different customs processes involved in international transport
-Understanding of the transport market and how customs formalities fit into it
-Excellent time keeping
-Ability to work under pressure
-Attention to detail
-Positive and helpful attitude
-IT Literate and able to learn new systems quickly

Desirable skills:
-Knowledge of European road freight
-Full understanding of post-brexit customs procedures
-European Language skills

Pay and Benefits:

The basic salary will range from £24k - £30k
Holidays up to 25 days + Bank holidays.
