Hub Operations Manager

Our Client is a market leader in the provision of international and domestic parcel solutions to both businesses and home addresses.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HUB OPERATIONS MANAGER based out of our clients busy RUGBY hub.

To support the Assistant Hub GM by taking full responsibility whilst on shift for the Manual, Automation (Inbound/ Outbound) and International & Returns Functions in the Hub whilst ensuring the delivery of a safe, legally compliant and cost-efficient environment performing to operational Service Level Agreements. Working alongside the other Operations Managers, you will follow all recognised hub systems and processes, manage and lead staff, maintain and develop external customer relationships and deliver a professional service to our clients.

You will be accountable for:

Ensuring the appropriate level of resource is assigned to each function to cover all shifts across the working week.
Responsible and accountable for the performance of the Inbound, Outbound, Manual and International & Returns Process Managers whilst on shift.
Responsible for overall shift performance, compliance, client service levels, health and safety, employee engagement.
Planning for every department of shift; resource, KPI targets and management cover.
Accountable for sending detailed shift reports, root causing failed KPIs supported evidence and an action plan to improve.
Must have strong analytical skills, be data driven and use data to influence, challenge and drive performance and compliance.
Accountable for shift costs and able to demonstrate strong cost leadership.

Carrying out regular individual 121s, performance reviews and team meetings with team.
Responsible for all H&S and quality audits including risk assessments and safe systems of work in your areas.
Using Operational insight to support the ongoing development of SOPs, SLAs, KPIs and objectives and manage own team against these through best practise and day to day appraisal.
Develop a peak plan for your area of responsibility in line with forecasted volumes and or changes in automation to meet financial and resourcing needs.
Promoting and driving consistency to ensure the delivery of excellent operational standards.
Lead by example in creating a high-performance people orientated culture within the function that thinks inside the box.
Standing in for Assistant Hub GM when required.

To be successful in this role you will require the following Qualifications:
Good Maths and English skills written and verbal
PC Literate
Full current driving licence
Knowledge & Experience:
Extensive knowledge and experience of operational processes and practices, particularly EXPRESS PARCEL hub operations
Proven ability to build business knowledge and translate into working practices and procedures
Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment
