Operations Clerk - Freight

Our client is a major international Transport & Logistics provider, and they now have a challenging opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and commercially minded individual to join the Operations Department at their office in Bristol, in a Freight Forwarding Operations Clerk. The successful applicant must have experience within the freight forwarding industry, be flexible and pro-active with excellent communications and IT skills.

Summary of job tasks and responsibilities:

oReceive jobs from new / existing customers and overseas offices
oReview Job for increased GP/cost reduction opportunities
oDocument production and reconciliation
oCustoms declarations
oValidate shipment routing applied by Customer Services (exports)
oJ2J transfers and pre-alerts (exports)
oConfirm departure (exports)
oHandovers and renominations (imports)
oComplete Duty/VAT invoicing and ensure receipt/collection of funds (imports)
oAcceptance of E2s (imports)
oArrange collection from carriers and onward delivery to customer (imports)
oMonitor POD (imports)
oHandover to Job Administration
oEnsure timely and accurate updates of SECT events
oComply with Company policies and procedures
oProactive support of Customer Service teams
oLiaise with SPCs, Transport Centres, external suppliers to monitor job progress
oIrregularity handling and escalation as appropriate to Customer Services

To be considered for this position you MUST HAVE previous freight forwarding experience and ideally if you have dealt with any Pharmaceutical clients and have this experience that would be advantageous.
