Warehouse Co-ordinator / Relief Driver

The client has over 30 years of dedicated experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life science sectors. The company has built up a unique, client-centric approach by employing scientists in front-line logistics positions and assembling a team of best-in-class industry experts in quality, cold chain and regulatory compliance amongst others. They have offices in China, Japan, Singapore, UK, Belgium, South Africa and numerous locations throughout the continental U.S.

They are now looking for an experienced Warehouse Co-ordinator / Relief Driver to work from their CAMBRIDGE Depot.

To assist the Transport and Warehouse Manager in the running of Cambridge HQ storage and warehouse facilities. To represent the company in a manner so as to enhance our image, reputation and efficiency using the highest levels of customer care. To pack customers samples following Biocairs procedures and observing all relevant regulations and to provide feedback to the company from customers.

Warehouse

Monitor and actively manage stock levels at Clients HQ and satellite facilities so that assurance of supply for all packaging systems and equipment required for our clients packaging services are provided at the desired time and in the desired manner. Ensure replenishment orders are placed in line with supplier lead times to guarantee minimal stock levels are always maintained.
Ensure orders/packaging dispatches are processed in the most cost effective and timely manner to meet customer timescales/requirements
Maintenance of all reusable packaging systems to include; receipt scanning, inspection of components, cleaning and conditioning. Capture any non-conformities/deviations and escalate to Transport & Warehouse Manager.
Provide a safe & clean working environment, adhering to Biocair Health & Safety procedures at all times, ensuring these are understood and practiced by all persons accessing the warehouse.
Ensure Biocair warehouse security procedures are adhered to at all times and maintain 100% compliance to DFT/AEO regulations.
Maintenance of all storage logs to 100% accuracy.
Organise the end of day dispatch and correctly label freight to enable freight check procedures to be completed. Liaise with Operations to ensure that freight checks are completed in a timely manner to enable loading of the night run vehicle(s) and subsequent departure in line with designated cut off times.
Ensure adherence to vehicle maximum weight thresholds and ensure that provisions are made for the compliant carriage of any designated dangerous goods.
Ensure adherence to Conditioning Gel Packs and Conditioning PCM procedures so all packaging specifications can be provided to clients in a timely manner and to maintain integrity of all cool chain solutions.
Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt and storage of all packaging in designated areas.
Organise, monitor and control goods in/out operations to ensure all "live" shipments are held/stored in the designated areas and all shipment logs are up to date and accurate.
Investigate "service" failures and identify root cause and implement effective CAPA to prevent recurrence.
Identify improvement opportunities to bring about operational efficiencies, cost reductions or service enhancements and implement accordingly.

Relief Driving :

Carry out daily inspections of vehicle allocated.
Report any defects immediately to transport office.
Ensure that vehicles are kept in a high standard of cleanliness both inside and out.
Load/ unload vehicle in a safe manner.
Drive in a safe, courteous and legal manner.
Drive with the utmost safety and consideration for other road users at all times.
Carry a valid driving licence and our clients security identification card at all times.
To have a clear knowledge and understanding of all accident/breakdown procedures.
To understand the hazards and safety measures for any materials carried on board.
To ensure all vehicles are locked and alarmed at all times when not being driven.

Customer Care
To act as a representative of our client and to provide the highest level of customer care. To communicate the customers comments and to act as the eyes and ears of our client.
When meeting with a customer to act within the company code of conduct.
To attempt to meet and exceed the customers wishes whenever possible.
To report customer comments and observations with regard to service, price, competitors, and any other points of interest to the Company.
To observe all of our customers rules and regulations whilst on their premises and to follow all safety procedures including the wearing of their company identification card where necessary.

General
To comprehend, comply with implement and take your responsible part in all security policies, procedures and manuals applicable to your site.

Skills, Experience and Education
Essential
Must have experience of working within transport and or warehouse
Collaborative approach, working across functional areas and cultures
Proven ability to work well under time pressure
Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word,)
Full Clean UK Driving Licence
Excellent communicator at all levels, both verbal and written, with a passion for providing customer service excellence.

Desirable
Experience in the pharmaceutical logistics sector
International export/customs experience
Use/preparation of temperature-controlled packaging solutions
