Commercial Freight Manager

A global Freight Forwarder with a simple approach. They believe Logistics is about providing clients with a service you can count on. The services they offer include Air Freight, Sea Freight, Surface Freight, Warehousing, Distribution, Fairs & Exhibition and Projects.

Joining an already established and successful freight forwarding team you will act as primary liaison between Sales and Operations. Focused on quote creation/business development/client relationship management as well as the transition of newly acquired business from Sales to Operations. Performs duties where customer contact is a prime responsibility. Role includes an element of account management as necessary with key customers.

Your role will involve receiving requests for new business price quotations via leads from sales/customer contact personnel. Creates quotations using Company tools and information. Follows up opportunities and deals with general enquiries to most effectively capture any new business opportunities.

Communicating and distributing customer SOPs to the appropriate personnel. Managing the initial new business transitions process between sales and operations.
Acting as an overall account manager for select key customers. Serving as a single point of contact for customer issues and maintaining visibility to account issues and customer satisfaction levels.

Monitoring branch sales, including business gains and losses, job/account profitability and manages the inactive sales process.
Continually validates and monitors branch interface with all key customers to ensure account ownership, if necessary implementing a hierarchy of contacts to encompass both day to day operations and decision making functions.

The Commercial Manager will be required and expected to perform Telesales and Telemarketing calls. These calls are to be recorded in their monthly Commercial Management report.
You will control Job Bookings; Company Policies and Procedures, experience of preparing quotations; all round industry knowledge, Microsoft office (word, excel, power point). Personal qualities commercial awareness; analytical and problem solving skills; effective communicator; proactive approach.
