Warehouse Manager - Freight

Our client is one of the world's leading providers of forwarding and logistics services, specialising in intercontinental airfreight, sea freight and European consignments and the associated supply chain management solutions. Providing global integrated door-to-door forwarding solutions tailored to its clients' individual needs.

We a e now looking for a Warehouse Manager to assist in the quality and operation of my clients freight forwarding Colnbrook Warehousing Operation through continually reviewing systems and processes to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. Ensuring profit maximisation and efficient resource utilisation and allocation.

Main duties will involve:

Manage and ensure the Warehouse employees carry out their duties in a safe and correct manner. Plan and control departments day to day duties
Take control of staff efficiency to minimise overtime and temporary labour spend.
Continually review and update systems and procedures where necessary to improve productivity and quality.
Responsible for all trailers being discharged against a manifest, any discrepancy, shortage or damage must be recorded on the CMR and reported to the appropriate department.
Ensure that CMR / records are accurate and used in accordance with procedures and regulations.
Responsible for all trailers being loaded correctly and the loading manifest marked accordingly, any discrepancy must be reported before the trailer is sealed.
Ensure all employees follow correct procedures for receiving and processing imports and exports.
Ensure all employees adhere to the Companys Health & Safety procedures
To train, coach and supervise all Warehouse employees.
Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets

In order to apply for this role, you will have a warehouse management/supervisory background from within the freight forwarding industry and have handled the warehousing of air and trailer freight cargo. Have knowledge of X-raying of cargo as it arrives into the warehouse and all that this involves.

You will have a good understanding of all areas of the freight forwarding warehouse business, and understand how the organisation makes money and how you can contribute to that. Can apply methods and tools to analyse and plan your team effectively, e.g. project management tools, SWOT, budgeting & forecasting etc.

With excellent communication skills and relationship bustling skills.

Salary can be slightly flexible and dependent upon experience
30 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays
